Every figure on this page is the figure you pay.

Three wedding collections, a family session and an album. No packages that change price once you mention the word wedding, and no travel supplement inside ninety kilometres of Galway.

The album

€480

It is a separate thing you buy when you are ready, sometimes a year later, and it is never bundled into a collection to make the collection look bigger.

What you get without asking.

  • 01A planning call about eight weeks out, when the church and the hotel have both told you their rules.
  • 02Public liability cover to €6.5 million, which is the certificate most Galway venues ask to see.
  • 03A private online gallery, password set by you, open for a year.
  • 04Full personal use licence for printing, framing and sharing. I keep the copyright.
  • 05Backups on two drives and one off site until the album is signed off.

The deposit and the contract.

A date is held when the contract is signed and the €400 booking deposit has cleared, not when we agree on the phone. The deposit is not refundable, because the Saturday comes off the calendar the moment it is paid and I turn down everyone else who asks for it. The balance is due fourteen days before the wedding.

The contract is two pages. It says what I will photograph, what happens if I am ill, who owns the photographs, how long the gallery stays open and what happens if you cancel. Read it before you pay anything, and ask me about the parts you do not like, because two of the clauses in it are there because a couple asked.

Questions I get every week

Can you stand where you like in the church?
No, and neither can anybody else. Most Galway parishes keep the photographer behind the front pews and out of the sanctuary, and a few ask for no flash at all. I ring the sacristan the week before rather than finding out on the day.
Do you have insurance the hotel will accept?
Public liability to €6.5 million. Ask me and the certificate goes to your venue the same day. It is the single most common thing a wedding coordinator asks a supplier for.
What happens if it rains?
It rains. In Galway it rains on about half the weddings I photograph, and the porch, the hotel corridor and the back of the church are all better light than a bright lawn anyway. I bring two umbrellas and I never once cancelled a portrait for weather.
Who owns the photographs?
I keep the copyright. You get a full personal use licence, which means you can print them, frame them, send them to anybody and put them wherever you like. If a magazine or a venue wants to publish them, they ask me.
Do you photograph the ceremony if it is not in a church?
Yes. A HSE registered solemniser in a hotel room is the same job with better light and no rules about where I stand.
