Wynnum Weekend House
A two-bedroom house 40 metres from the shore, raised 1.5 metres on piers, with a living pavilion that has no walls at all.

The brief
A weekend house used eight days a month, so it had to shut down cleanly and open up fast.
What we did
- 01
A house that can be closed in ten minutes
Shutters, not curtains, on every opening, so the place can be left empty without being dark inside when you return.
- 02
Salt-tolerant everything
Stainless fixings, powder-coated aluminium and hardwood, because the sea is 200 metres away.
- 03
Outdoor shower and a slab that drains
The floor slopes to the garden so sand and salt leave the house before you do.
